Creative Thoughts

My name is Justin Carney. I was born and raised in Ardmore, OK. I've never been able to get rid of the urge to create things. Whether it's a sculpture or a digital creation, once I get the creativity flowing I have to commit. I have been to vocational school for video production and have been shooting many different types of videos for years.

I have always been interested in a wide range of art, but a few years ago I had the sudden itch to travel to a foreign country. I spent a year working and traveling through New Zealand and fell in love with the place. In my downtime I would film and make videos for YouTube. I am proud of the content I create and all of the memories they bring to my mind. I primarily made these videos to showcase my travels for my family back home, but it fostered a creative avenue for me that I hadn't given much thought to before.

I noticed that making videos simply makes the most sense for me; I am a very visual and imaginative thinker. Storytelling and chasing new types of art projects is how I spend my spare time. One day, I reflected on what my strengths and passions were, and I figured that should embrace those tendencies and pursue a career in filmmaking. I am excited to dive headfirst into the field that I know I'm meant to be in.
